I went on my first mission trip to Haiti in February of 2017. While there, I was able to use my experience as a medical assistant to help with clinics held for Haitians who have limited access to healthcare. I was able to check their blood pressure and assist with handing out medications and vitamins. I was also blessed with the opportunity to love the Haitian community in other ways. We passed out bags of groceries and Bibles to homes in the community. We played games with the children and teenagers who live in the orphanage of the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission campus, as well as held a movie night for them. We also were able to sing worship songs and do crafts with the special needs children who live on the campus.
God revealed to me the amazing work He is doing in Haiti, and I hope to be a small part of that when I return for another mission trip in March of 2018. I cannot wait to see what God will do while we are there this year. I never knew that my heart could expand so much that I would love an entire country, but it has. I am so excited to be able to go back in March to the country that I love so dearly!
